Happy Tuesday, everyone! Now, when the crazy Monday is over, we can talk about the weekend. How was it? Did you do or see anything interesting? Please, share! :)
My weekend was unexpectedly calm and lazy, with lots of sleep. Mostly in bed, along with my better half and Netflix... It all started with one episode of "CSI: NY" during breakfast and became a weekend-long marathon. This series turned out to be such a great one, and the soundtrack is real good!
Unlike such a relaxing vibe of that past weekend, the weekend several weeks ago wasn’t that quiet at all. And today I want to share two ideas with you: how to wear sequins during the day and an idea of one day escape from the city, just about 90 minutes from NYC by car.
As for the outfit, the most important thing about wearing sequins during the day is the moderation. Don’t go too far! Add just a touch of sparkle to your outfit, like, for example, my t-shirt has only a front check sequin panel, not all over the top. And dress them down. I did it by wearing plain skinny jeans and wedge sneakers. Accessories are also important. I opted for a pretty simple set – a pair of sporty wayfarer sunglasses (they match the colors of the top perfectly, aren’t they?), simple diamond studs, chronograph watch and a huge satchel that held everything I needed for a day. Hope you like the look!
Check my picks at the end of the post, if you’d like to incorporate a sequin top in your wardrobe as well. All of the tops below can be easily worn both during the day and for a night out.
By the way, if you’re like me, a wedge sneakers kind of girl and like the pair I’m wearing here, I would recommend checking out the new colors that came out this fall. See my picks at the end of the post.
I own two pairs of these ‘Cool’ wedge sneakers. I wore a white and blue pair here and here.
As for the trip, we visited New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ this time, hoping not only to have fun exploring the towns but also find something vintage and exquisite.
Our first stop was the Golden Nugget antique and flea market where I found this gorgeous brooch. If you don’t find anything good there, don’t be sad, you’ll have another chance. There are many antique shops in both Lambertville and New Hope, I've never seen that many of them in one place.
Then we headed towards the towns. We parked in New Hope and rushed to the Gerenser’s Exotic Ice Cream shop, which is famous for quality home made ice cream. Lots of flavors, very delicious!
Next we made for Lambertville. Two towns are separated by the Delaware River, which you can walk over in about ten minutes and the view is beautiful. Lambertville, as well as New Hope, is adorable and full of antiques, restaurants and nice places to wander around. If you’re a coffee lover, stop by Lambertville Trading Company. Latte and cappuccino were perfect!
A couple of hours flew by and it was time to go back to New Hope to explore it too and find a good place for dinner. Such place happened to be Karla's Bar & Restaurant. I had French onion soup, baked brie with caramel and almonds and Juniper Breeze cocktail. No regrets!
This was our plan which, I think, you can follow as well. Or make your own. You’ll love a day trip to this area anyway. Have fun and let me know whether you like the place if you ever go there!
