Pleated, Accordion Style

A pleated maxi skirt is a timeless classic that never dates; and I always liked it, but from the distance. I liked many different stylish outfits, featuring it, that I saw on the streets and all over the Internet, especially since a couple of years ago, when maxi skirts resurfaced and grew in popularity among fashion bloggers; however I used to feel like this kind of skirts - a black pleated one, quite classy and conservative - wasn’t for me, that it didn’t match my style and my personality, that it was too mature for me. But never say never! :) Once I saw this ASOS maxi number I decided to brake my own fashion rules - try to incorporate this skirt into my wardrobe and make it complement my personal style. So, firstly, I opted for flats, as you might notice I very often do; secondly, I went for a mix of femininity with sportish details; as a result I dressed the skirt down by wearing it with a t-shirt and slides and balanced the romanticism of the outfit by adding a small shoulder bag and wavy hairstyle.
