Even though it's not always easy, I do believe that every day brings a new opportunity to make a difference as well as I do believe that there is always a silver lining in the sky, something to be thankful for and be happy about. For instance, today I’m extremely thankful for modern technology and for being lucky to be living in 21st century. Let me explain… I had an elaborate plan for today, but, unfortunately, the day went totally wrong from the very beginning. Long story short, on this beautiful Saturday I ended up at home going through my online backup and I found these photos from a shoot that took place a couple of months ago. I was sure I lost them forever – a memory card got corrupted before I had a chance to download them on a hard drive, and I totally forgot I backed them up online first (I generally never do this in that order). Since I always try to have a backup copy of everything I shoot or of any other important documents as soon as possible after they produced, such disasters don’t usually happen to me. So I think you can imagine how frustrated I was about losing all the shots from that day. Thankfully, modern technology is my friend and it constantly helps me on the way, and I do encourage you, my dear readers, to always back up all the important information you might have as well!
My personal backup philosophy is to always have at least two backups in two different places:
My personal backup philosophy is to always have at least two backups in two different places:
- Local backup (external hard drive)
I’ve been using G-Technology G-Drive external hard drives for many years and am absolutely happy with their performance as well as with their stylish look. - Online backup (online backup service)
There are numerous online backup services nowadays, so you can always find the best one for you. After a thorough research, I chose CrashPlan. No complaints or regrets so far.
What about you guys, do you back up your photos and other important files? What is your backup strategy? Do share in the comments!
As for the today’s outfit, every detail of it is like a jigsaw puzzle piece that when assembled together produce the picture of the perfect boho style outfit appropriate for a big city life – just the right amount of bohemian and urban vibes mixed up in a delicious cocktail. And while every piece here is extremely important, I would like to pay close attention to the sandals... Generally, shoes can either pull an outfit together or completely destroy it. It’s especially important in this particular case, when drawing the line between effortlessness and a flower child style was essential, and it's not always easy. I found the perfect solution - eye-catching Ella Moss ‘Tessa’ Sandals (also available Here, Here, Here & Here) that I fell in love with from the very first sight. Despite the high heel (which I would easily forgive anyway because of the crazy beautiful zigzag ornament on it), they’re surprisingly comfortable, and the padded insoles are a very nice treat as well. By the way, while I bought them for the full price (that, frankly, rarely happens to me), you're much luckier than I was, you can now buy them on sale. Up to 70% off! Woohoo!!! Happy shopping!
Hope you like today's flashback to warmer days! Don't forget to tell me what you think!

That blouse is so pretty with the denim!
ReplyDeleteSo good that you had a copy of the files so that you didn't lose anything! I'm pretty slow with backing things up, I only do it now and then, I should really do it more often!
