Although every calendar around is trying to deceive me and make me believe that it’s spring already, I hold my ground. It’s actually very easy to do when the first day of March brings you many hours of continuous snow, and today is no better. However, I’m not complaining and trying to embrace any weather we are given. My philosophy of getting through winter - I believe in not avoiding it, but rather dressing properly and weather appropriately – does help and even brings some joy and entertainment, because you have to explore different types of winter clothes and incorporate it into your wardrobe in a creative and hopefully never boring way.
My winter wardrobe staples this year are a trapper hat, an ASOS oversized scarf and a pair of UGG Australia boots. Frankly, the latter is a constant in my shoe collection, and I never participate in any kind of arguments about the notion that Uggs are ugly (are there any yet, by the way?), they are not and can be sometimes real lifesavers, just don’t live in them 24/7. If you disagree, you can tell me, I will love you anyway! :)
Getting back to trapper hats and oversized scarves, I do encourage you to try them! Not only will they keep you warm, but they will also be so much fun to play with while creating winter outfits. They are both like transformers and can be modified, styled and worn in lots of different ways, only your imagination is the limit. And our imaginations do need training, never forget it! You dream big, you get big! :) In today’s outfit case, I chose to wear the hat with ear flaps folded up and this crazy awesome, crazy huge and crazy warm ASOS oversized scarf (also available as a cape) let me swap a down jacket for a lighter wool coat in classic fit, acting as an additional protective layer and a finishing touch to the overall look that ties it all together.
With those “technical” aspects of my outfit of another winter day, I’d like to finish this, quite unusual for me, flow of letters and words, and ask you what you think style-wise. Let me know in the comments!

I totally feel your pain. NYC has gotten slammed with snow & gusty bone numbing winds this year. Uggs, regardless of what any says.... cute. Cute in that comfy cozy kind of way. I wish I could keep them on at work. You've styled these Uggs in a really casual yet chic manner. I have a trapper/ear hat as well. It's real fur and so warm, sometimes to warm so we're on the same page. Love it!
